Aurora of Haiti (P4)

Project 4 was a personal spin on a common folktale, and I worked on a version of 'Snow White', but set in Caribbean Haiti in the 80s. The scenes begin in three different styles, with the first scene of Aurora being hunted by the wicked Queen's assassin, but this time with the setting being bathing in the Grand Basin-Blue as a lurking assassin seems to think over his action. In the second scene, illustrated is the iconic scene of Aurora biting the poison apple, but this time it being a poison mango, which is a national fruit of Haiti. In the last scene Aurora is awoken by the prince in the woods, and they live happily ever after. Aurora wears the traditional Haitian Karabela here, a quadrille dress that is common in Latin America and the Caribbean.
